The Glass Menagerie -Theme/topic/subject
The point of the text explains the hardships that Amanda, Tom, and Laura go through. They all battle with struggles with society and within themselves. One theme is that they have a hard time excepting reality and what is going on around them. For example, Laura has a hard time excepting her shyness and her leg with a brace on it. She knows she has it but she has a hard time dealing with it. Then there is Amanda who can't grasp a hold on her finances and success. Tom ends up giving up . He can't deal with reality as a whole. He was the sane one but he just gave up.

It is a shame to know that everybody has a flaw or problem that is hard to deal with at times. Acceptance is always the hardest part for any human being because it is always our absolute goal to be perfect. From just reading this post, I can really understand where Laura is coming from since shyness happens to me inevitably and I always try to deny that I do when I know very well that I do. I guess it would be healthy for the mind to know about his/her flaws and be brave enough to accept it and be strong enough to counter that flaw.
