The are a few untold stories in this play. One untold story is within the daughter. Laura is shy and deals with a lot of problems with herself. Dealing with her issues makes her a person who keeps to herself. With her being this way she doesn't attract the male callers or even talk to people. Amanda hates that she is this way because she wants what is best for Laura.
This reminds me of kids in high school. Kids want to fit in but have a hard time coming out of their shell. They feel as though if they do people will judge them. Sometimes I feel as though kids with disabilities are scared to be judged because teenagers are cruel but everyone deserves the chance to be themselves and experience life without being scared.

The Glass Menagerie -Theme/topic/subject

The point of the text explains the hardships that Amanda, Tom, and Laura go through. They all battle with struggles with society and within themselves. One theme is that they have a hard time excepting reality and what is going on around them. For example, Laura has a hard time excepting her shyness and her leg with a brace on it. She knows she has it but she has a hard time dealing with it. Then there is Amanda who can't grasp a hold on her finances and success. Tom ends up giving up . He can't deal with reality as a whole. He was the sane one but he just gave up.
